Pianist. Performer. Storyteller.

What people are saying…

Having had the distinct pleasure of working alongside Claire on several occasions, I always look forward to the musicianship, pianism and personal warmth that she brings to each and every collaboration. She is a wonderful conduit between conductor, chorus and soloists, with a keen sense of how to translate orchestral colours and timing onto the keyboard. I regularly rely on her talent and professionalism in bringing projects to life and am always grateful for her consummate integrity and dedication.

Claire Stevens brings a depth of knowledge, passion, and connection with each musician with whom she collaborates. Her playing is beautiful and generous… She opens up a space to truly be at play...
— Cara Gilbertson, soprano and director of Bytown School of Singing
I began working with Claire during my undergraduate studies in voice interpretation at the University of Ottawa. Even during my years of study, Claire always fostered a work environment that encouraged equal collaboration. She remained open and respectful of my musical ideas and generously offered me her infinite insight. In addition to teaching me about repertoire and style, she taught me how to perform as part of a collaborative ensemble. Claire plays with the precision of a percussionist, the legato lines of a string player, as well as all the colours in between. But above all, she always brings the curiosity, passion and pleasure that every instrumentalist and singer seeks in a collaborator!
